Ingredients/Components
- soft shortening - 1/3 c
- sugar - 1/2 c
- egg - 1 item
- flour
- baking powder
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- nutmeg - 1/4 tsp
- milk - 1/2 c
- melted margarine
- cinnamon
How to make french doughnuts:
Topping:9 Tbsp. melted margarine3/4 c. sugar1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon Preheat oven to 350°. Mix the shortening, sugar and egg at medium speed until blended. Sift together the flour, baking powder, salt and nutmeg. Stir dry ingredients into shortening mixture at medium speed alternately with milk. Fill greased muffin cups 2/3 full. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes. When done, roll in melted margarine, then roll in sugar-cinnamon mixture. Serve hot. Serves 12.Recipe categories: Healthy, Kid Friendly, Comfort food.
