Basic white bread
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 Tbsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- oil - 2 Tbsp
- all-purpose flour - 5 5
- very warm water 125~ to 130~
- quick-rise yeast - 1 pkg
How to make basic white bread:
In large bowl, mix 2 1/2 cups flour, yeast, sugar and salt. Add 1 1/2 cups warm water and oil. Stir until well blended. Stir in 1 1/2 cups more flour. Gradually add enough flour to make a soft dough. Turn dough onto lightly floured surface. Knead about 8 to 10 minutes. Spray with vegetable spray, cover and let rest 10 minutes.Punch down dough; shape into two loaves. Spray with vegetable spray and let rise until double in size. Bake at 375° for 35 to 40 minutes. Remove from pans; brush with margarine. Cool on wire racks or turn pans on sides to cool.
