Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- cinnamon
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- milk - 1 c
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- flour
- nutmeg - 1/8 tsp
- melted margarine - 2/3 c
- baking powder - 2 tsp
- egg - 1 item
- margarine - 1/4 lb
How to make crumb cake:
Crumbs:1 1/2 c. flour1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon1/8 tsp. nutmeg1/4 tsp. vanilla2/3 c. melted margarine Cake: Cream margarine and sugar. Beat in egg and vanilla. Mix in milk. Add baking powder and salt mixed with flour. Put in greased and floured 8-inch pans or a 9 x 13-inch pan.Crumbs; Mix flour, cinnamon and nutmeg. Add vanilla. Mix in melted margarine and form crumbs on top of batter in pans. Bake at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes. When cool, sprinkle with confectioners sugar.
Hint: Do not roll crumbs with fingers too long when forming or they will become tough.
