Ingredients/Components

  • egg yolks - 6 item
  • cold water - 6 Tbsp
  • sugar - 1/2 c
  • flour - 1/2 c
  • baking powder - 1 tsp
  • lemon flavoring - 1 tsp
  • egg whites - 6 item
  • pinch of salt - 1 item
  • cream of tartar - 1 tsp
  • vanilla - 1 tsp

How to make daffodil cake:

Beat egg yolks and add cold water and 1/2 cup sugar. Beat until thick and lemon colored. Fold in flour (1/2 cup) and baking powder. Add lemon flavoring. Pour into greased and floured tube pan. Beat egg whites, salt and cream of tartar until stiff. Add 1 cup sugar, 3/4 cup flour and vanilla. Pour over ingredients in tube pan. Bake 1 hour at 350°.
