Freezer tomato sauce
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 3 Tbsp
- salt - 2 Tbsp
- pepper - 3/4 tsp
- fresh parsley, chopped - 1/2 c
- tomatoes, washed, peeled, cored and cut in chunks - 20 item
- large carrots, peeled and shredded - 4 item
How to make freezer tomato sauce:
Bring slowly to boil, stirring often. Lower heat and simmer 30 minutes or until thick. Cool slightly. Measure 3 cups at a time into a blender or food processor. Cover and process on high until smooth (about 1 minute). Pour into freezer containers in serving sizes, leaving 1/4-inch headroom. Seal, label and freeze. Makes 16 cups.May be used for soups, spaghetti or any dish calling for tomato sauce.
