Fish chowder
Ingredients/Components
- half and half - 1 c
- pkg - 1 lb
- milk - 3 c
- butter - 1/4 c
- water - 1 c
- all-purpose flour - 2 Tbsp
- pepper - 1/8 tsp
- thinly sliced onion - 1 c
- salt, divided - 2 tsp
- cubed raw potatoes - 1 c
- leaf thyme - 1/4 tsp
- sliced raw carrots - 1 c
- leaf rosemary - 1/2 tsp
How to make fish chowder:
Melt butter; add onion, potato, carrot, water, 1 teaspoon salt and pepper. Cover and simmer until carrot is almost tender, about 15 minutes. Add fish, milk, herbs and remaining 1 teaspoon salt. Heat to simmering. Cook until fish flakes easily.Blend together half and half and flour. Add to chowder and heat thoroughly. Yields 8 to 10 servings.
