Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- shortening - 1/2 c
- pepper - 1/3 tsp
How to make dumplings:
Mix dry ingredients well. Cut in shortening as for pie crust until crumbly. Add enough milk to make a stiff dough. Roll out on well floured board, 1/8 to 1/4-inch thick. Cut into squares and drop into boiling broth. Reduce heat and cook about 20 minutes, uncovered.Recipe categories: Pasta, Main dish, Pasta, rice and grains.
