Ingredients/Components

  • milk - 1 c
  • salt
  • flour - 1/4 c
  • butter - 3 Tbsp
  • cold water - 3 Tbsp
  • baking powder - 3/4 tsp
  • shortening - 1/3 c
  • pepper - 1/8 tsp
  • can cream of chicken soup - 1 item
  • chicken broth - 1 c
  • diced, cooked chicken - 2 c
  • poultry seasoning - 1/4 tsp
  • peas and carrots - 1 c
  • Add broth, milk and seasoning

How to make chicken pot pie:

Melt butter in saucepan, blend in flour. Add broth, milk and seasoning. Cook, stirring constantly until thick. Add chicken and vegetables and heat.Pastry:1 c. flour3/4 tsp. baking powder1/3 c. shortening3 Tbsp. cold water1/2 tsp. salt Roll thin when dough is stiff. Shape a bottom crust to fit pan. Add filling and top with a top crust. Press edges together. Make a few splits in top and bake at 400° for 30 minutes.
