Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 tsp
- butter - 1 Tbsp
- water - 1/4 c
- soda - 1/4 tsp
- egg unbeaten - 1 item
- honey - 2 Tbsp
- minced onion - 1 Tbsp
- dry yeast - 1 pkg
- dill seed - 2 tsp
- creamed cottage cheese, heated lukewarm - 1 c
- flour whole wheat optional - 2 2
How to make dilly casserole bread:
Soften yeast in warm water. Combine cottage cheese, honey, onion, butter, dill seed, salt, baking soda, egg and softened yeast. Add enough flour to form a medium dough, beating well after each addition of flour.For the first addition of flour, use mixer on low speed, then wooden spoon as dough becomes firmer. Cover bowl; let rise in warm place until double, about 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Stir dough down. Turn into well-greased 8-inch round 1 1/2-quart casserole dish. Cover. Let rise until texture is light, 30 to 40 minutes. Bake at 350° for 35 to 40 minutes. Brush with butter and sprinkle with salt.
