Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 Tbsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- butter - 1 Tbsp
- soda - 1/4 tsp
- all-purpose flour
- warm water - 1/4 c
- minced onion - 1 Tbsp
- dry yeast - 1 pkg
- dill seed - 2 tsp
- creamed cottage cheese, heated to lukewarm - 1 c
- unbeaten egg - 1 item
How to make dilly casserole bread:
Preheat oven to 350°. Soften yeast in warm water. Combine in mixing bowl with warm cottage cheese, sugar, onion, butter, dill seed, salt, soda and egg. Add flour to form a stiff dough, beating well after each addition. Cover and let rise until doubled in size (50 to 60 minutes). Stir dough down. Place in well-greased 8-inch round casserole (1 1/2 to 2 quarts) and let rise in warm place 30 to 40 minutes. Bake at 350° for 40 to 50 minutes until golden brown.
