Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 item
- medium size Kirby cucumbers - 5 item
- small white onions, thinly sliced - 2 item
- distilled white vinegar or cider vinegar - 1 c
How to make cucumber salad:
Preparation 20 minutes. Let stand 1 hour and 10 minutes. Makes 4 servings.Peel 5 cucumbers. Slice very thinly. Place in a large, shallow, nonmetallic bowl. Salt generously. Place a heavy plate on top. Weight with jars or cans. Let stand 1 hour. Drain cucumber slices. Combine cucumbers with onions in serving bowl. Pour vinegar over and toss to mix. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
