Ingredients/Components
- cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- chopped pecans - 1/2 c
- salt
- flour - 2 c
- brown sugar - 2 c
- nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
- soda - 1/2 tsp
- buttermilk - 1 c
- baking powder - 2 tsp
- Crisco - 1/2 c
- beaten eggs - 2 item
How to make crumb cake:
Combine flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, soda, baking powder and salt. Cut Crisco into mixture until well mixed. Take out 1/2 cup of this mixture and save. Add beaten eggs, buttermilk and vanilla. Pour into a greased pan or 2 (8-inch) cake pans. Add chopped pecans to the 1/2 cup of dry mixture and sprinkle over the top of the batter.
