Ingredients/Components

  • milk - 3 c
  • butter - 3 Tbsp
  • paprika - 1/2 tsp
  • chopped onion - 1 c
  • chicken broth - 1 c
  • salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
  • carrots - 1 c
  • potatoes - 1 c
  • cabbage - 2 c
  • grated sharp cheese - 1 c
  • flour, mixed with some water - 1/4 c

How to make creamed cabbage soup:

Simmer onion and butter until tender. Add cabbage (chopped fine), carrots (sliced or chopped) and potatoes (diced). Simmer, covered, stirring often, 20 minutes. Add paprika, chicken broth, milk and salt and pepper to taste. Heat to just boiling. Reduce heat. Add flour with water to thicken. Add sharp cheese and let melt (optional).

Can use processor to chop vegetables.
