Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1 c
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • flour - 2 c
  • baking powder - 1/2 tsp
  • baking soda - 1/2 tsp
  • melted butter - 2 Tbsp
  • hot water - 2 Tbsp
  • egg, well beaten - 1 item
  • orange juice - 1/2 c
  • nut meats - 1/2 c
  • raw cranberries, cut in half - 1 c

How to make cranberry loaf:

Mix flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda and sugar. Add remaining ingredients; mix well. Bake at 325° for 70 minutes, or until straw comes out clean. Butter top when done; wrap in waxed paper and put in refrigerator for at least 2 hours before using. Keeps several weeks.
