Cranberry bread
Ingredients/Components
- flour - 2 c
- sugar - 1 c
- baking powder
- salt - 1 tsp
- baking soda - 1/2 tsp
- applesauce - 1/4 c
- orange juice - 3/4 c
- egg, well beaten - 1 item
- cranberries, chopped - 2 c
- chopped walnuts optional - 1 c
How to make cranberry bread:
Preheat oven to 350°. Sift together dry ingredients. Pour in applesauce. Combine orange juice and egg; add to dry ingredients, mixing just enough to moisten. Add in cranberries and nuts. Bake in greased loaf pan for at least an hour. Check for doneness.For easier slicing, store in refrigerator overnight.
Note: Can substitute butter or margarine for applesauce.
