Cranberry bread
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- chopped pecans - 1 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- soda - 1/4 tsp
- baking powder
- egg - 1 item
- shortening - 2 Tbsp
- all-purpose flour - 2 c
- grated orange peel - 1 Tbsp
- orange juice - 3/4 c
- fresh cranberries, halved - 1 c
How to make cranberry bread:
In a large mixing bowl, sift together dry ingredients. Add orange peel, shortening, egg and orange juice. Mix quickly, but well. Add cranberries and nuts. Blend. Pour into a well-greased 9 x 5 x 3-inch pan. Bake at 350° for 55 to 65 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
