Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- salt - 2 tsp
- chopped nuts - 1 c
- flour - 4 c
- butter - 1/4 c
- eggs, beaten - 2 item
- baking powder - 3 tsp
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- orange juice - 2/3 c
- fresh cranberries - 4 c
How to make cranberry bread:
Sift first 5 ingredients. Add nuts. Keep separate. Melt butter; add orange juice. Add enough water to make 1 1/2 cups liquid. Stir in the eggs. Pour over dry ingredients all at once, mixing just enough to dampen mixture. Fold in the cranberries. Bake in greased lined loaf pans in 350° oven for 50 to 60 minutes. Let stand 15 minutes in pans before removing. Slices better after storing overnight. Makes 3 loaves (7 1/2 x 3 1/2 x 2 1/8).Recipe categories: Breads, Fruit, Quick breads.
