- sugar - 1/4 c
- eggs - 2 item
- milk - 1 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 1 c
- baking powder - 8 tsp
- shortening - 2 tsp
- yellow corn meal - 1 c
- white corn meal - 1 c
- crushed cracklins - 1 c
How to make cornbread:
In a large bowl mix all ingredients together, except cracklins; beat for 1 minute. Add cracklins. Grease a 12-inch iron skillet or a 13-inch Pyrex dish. Pour mixture into pan. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes or until golden brown.Recipe categories: Breads, Quick breads, Southern u.s..
