Corn chowder
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 tsp
- boiling water - 1 c
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- finely chopped onion - 1/2 c
- can whole kernel corn - 1 oz
- diced raw potatoes - 2 c
- warm milk - 3 c
- slices side bacon, cut in small pieces - 4 item
How to make corn chowder:
Fry bacon until crisp in a deep heavy saucepan. Remove bacon bits and drain on paper toweling. Pour off fat. Measure 2 tablespoons and return to saucepan. Add onions and cook until transparent, but not brown. Add raw potatoes and water. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and cook 8 to 10 minutes or until tender. Add remaining ingredients and heat just to boiling. Season to taste. Yields 6 cups.Recipe categories: Corn, Soups & stews, Chowders.
