Chuck wagon beans
Ingredients/Components
- salt
- boiling water - 2/3 c
- pepper - 1/2 tsp
- mustard - 3 Tbsp
- ketchup
- ground beef - 3 lb
- finely chopped onion - 3 c
- finely chopped celery - 1 c
- beef bouillon cubes - 2 item
- bacon slices optional - 1/2 lb
- 1/2 cloves garlic, minced - 1 item
- each molasses style baked beans - 2 cans
How to make chuck wagon beans:
Preheat oven to 375°. Then, in a Dutch oven or large roasting pan, fry bacon until crisp; set aside. Drain fat from pan. In the same pan, cook and stir ground beef, onion and celery until meat is brown and onion is tender. Dissolve bouillon cubes in boiling water; stir bouillon and remaining ingredients into meat mixture. Then cover.Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until hot and bubbly. Crumble the bacon and sprinkle it over the beans. Makes 12 servings (1 cup each).
