Seven-layer casserole
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 tsp
- water - 1/2 c
- pepper - 1/8 tsp
- cans tomato sauce - 2 oz
- finely chopped onion - 1/2 c
- can whole kernel corn - 12 oz
- browned ground beef, drained - 1 lb
- uncooked real rice - 1 c
- bacon, cut into small pieces and browned - 1/2 lb
How to make seven-layer casserole:
Layer ingredients in a 3-quart baking dish in this order: rice, corn and its liquid, 1 teaspoon salt, 1/8 teaspoon pepper, 1 can tomato sauce, 1/2 cup water, onion, ground beef, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/8 teaspoon pepper, 1 can tomato sauce and 1/4 cup water. Cover with bacon. Cover casserole and bake at 350° for 1 hour. Uncover and continue to bake for 10 to 20 minutes or until the bacon is crisp.Recipe categories: < 4 hours, Time to make, Main dish.
