Ingredients/Components

  • cinnamon - 1 item
  • eggs - 3 item
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • flour
  • brown sugar - 1 item
  • all-purpose flour - 1 c
  • cooking oil - 1/2 c
  • warm water
  • box yellow cake mix - 1 item
  • dry yeast - 2 pkg
  • soft margarine - 1 item

How to make cinnamon rolls:

Place warm water in large mixing bowl. Sprinkle dry yeast over warm water; let set for 3 minutes. Add cake mix, 1 cup flour, eggs, oil and salt. Beat with mixer until bubbles appear. Add flour and stir. Makes a soft dough. Knead on well-floured board, put in bowl and let rise until doubled in size. Divide dough, roll out and spread with margarine, sugar and cinnamon. Roll up, cut and place on greased pan. Let rise. Bake at 350° for 15 to 20 minutes. Ice while hot with powdered sugar icing.

Note: Use 1 stick margarine on each roll out. Can use one pound brown sugar, 1/2 on each roll out. Mix cinnamon and white sugar together and sprinkle over margarine and brown sugar. Can add raisins and pecans. Right before putting in oven, can add more cinnamon and sugar on top. These freeze well and are good to give away!
