Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1/4 c
  • cinnamon - 2 tsp
  • vanilla
  • milk
  • salt - 2 tsp
  • flour
  • butter - 1/2 c
  • butter or margarine, softened - 1/3 c
  • raisins
  • butter, melted - 1/4 c
  • yeast - 2 pkg
  • mashed potatoes - 1 c
  • warm water 110~ to 115~ - 1/2 c
  • Add 1/4 cup sugar, salt and 1/2 cup butter
  • milk may add if needed - 3 Tbsp

How to make cinnamon rolls:

Heat milk until bubbles form around edge of pan. Add 1/4 cup sugar, salt and 1/2 cup butter. Add unseasoned mashed potatoes. Cool to lukewarm.

Mix water and yeast and add to milk mixture. Add 3 1/2 cups flour and raisins. Mix well and add 3 1/2 cups more flour. Knead for 10 minutes. Let rise until double. Roll out half of dough. Mix together 1/2 cup sugar, cinnamon and 1/4 cup butter, melted and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon mixture. Roll up. Cut into 1 1/2-inch slices. Put in pans and let rise until double. Do the same with second piece. Brush with melted butter. Bake at 375° for 35 to 40 minutes. Brush with melted butter.Frosting:3 c. powdered sugar1/3 c. butter or margarine, softened1 1/2 tsp. vanilla3 Tbsp. milk (may add if needed) Mix well.
