  • vanilla - 2 tsp
  • flour - 3 c
  • butter - 1/2 lb
  • confectioners sugar - 1 lb
  • jar maraschino cherries - 1 oz
  • walnuts, coarsely chopped - 2 c
  • eggs, room temperature - 5 item

How to make christmas cake:

Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs one at a time. Add flour and vanilla. Blend well. Fold in nuts and cherries. (Roll cherries in flour first to avoid sinking.) Pour into a greased and floured tube pan. Bake at 350° for 20 minutes, then lower to 325° and bake one hour.
