Chop suey
Ingredients/Components
- salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
- onions, chopped - 2 item
- celery, chopped - 1/2 c
- can bean sprouts - 1 item
- lean beef, chopped in small cubes - 2 lb
- lean pork, chopped in small cubes - 2 lb
- cans chow mein vegetables - 2 item
- thick soy sauce or bead molasses - 2 Tbsp
How to make chop suey:
Brown meat in greaseless pot. Add celery and onions. Cook at low heat 30 minutes. Add vegetables and sprouts. Cook on low heat for 4 to 5 hours. Add soy sauce to make a nice color. Add salt and pepper to taste. Thicken with cornstarch if needed. Serve over white rice and top with heated canned chow mein noodles.
