Ingredients/Components

  • cornstarch - 3 Tbsp
  • oil - 3 Tbsp
  • soy sauce - 2 Tbsp
  • onions, chopped - 1 c
  • celery, chopped - 3 c
  • can bean sprouts - 1 item
  • pork, cubed - 1 lb
  • bead molasses - 1 Tbsp

How to make chow mein:

Heat oil in skillet; fry meat alone until nearly done. Add 1 tablespoon soy sauce, celery, onions and 1 1/2 cups soup stock or bouillon cubes in 1 1/2 cups water. Saute for 10 minutes. Add bean sprouts, drained. Cook 5 minutes. Add gravy, using 1 tablespoon bead molasses, 1 tablespoon soy sauce, cornstarch and 2/3 cup water. Season to taste. Pour over meat and vegetables; stir until thickened. Serve over canned noodles or rice.
