  • sugar - 3 c
  • cake flour - 3 c
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • Carnation milk
  • Crisco - 1/2 c
  • eggs - 6 item
  • baking powder - 1/2 tsp
  • cocoa - 1/2 c
  • vanilla - 2 tsp
  • Add eggs one at a time
  • stick butter, melted - 1 item

How to make chocolate pound cake:

Cream the butter, Crisco and sugar. Add eggs one at a time. Mix salt, cocoa, baking powder and flour together. Add vanilla to milk. Add half of the flour mixture and half of the milk, then the other half of each; mix well. Bake at 325° for 1 1/2 hours.Icing:1 box 4x sugar1 stick butter, melted3 Tbsp. cocoa1/4 to 1/2 c. Carnation milk Mix until creamy. Put on cake while it is hot.
