Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 3/4 c
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • flour - 1/2 c
  • butter - 1 Tbsp
  • water
  • egg yolks - 4 item
  • cocoa - 1/3 c
  • cream of tartar - 1/4 tsp
  • Milnot
  • 9-inch pie shell, baked

How to make chocolate cream pie:

Heat water and Milnot until hot. Mix 3/4 cup sugar, cocoa, flour and salt. Add hot milk and cook until almost thick. Beat egg yolks. Pour 1/2 of mix in egg yolks. Stir, pour back in pan and cook until thick. Pour in a 9-inch baked pie shell.

Beat egg whites with cream of tartar until foamy. Add 6 tablespoons of sugar. Beat until stiff. Spread on pie and brown. Let cool for 2 hours.
