Chocolate cream cake
Ingredients/Components
- eggs - 2 item
- tsp salt - 1/4 item
- tsp vanilla - 1 item
- cup margarine - 1/2 item
- squares unsweetened chocolate - 2 item
- cup boiling water - 1 item
- cup sour cream - 1/2 item
- tsp soda - 1 item
- 3/4 cups firmly packed brown sugar - 1 item
- 3/4 cups + 2 tbsp unsifted flour - 1 item
How to make chocolate cream cake:
Dissolve 2 squares of unsweetened chocolate in 1 cup of boiling water. Cool.Cream: 1/2 cup margarine with 1 tsp vanilla, 1 3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar. Add : 2 eggs, beating after each addition, 1 3/4 cup + 2 tbsp unsifted flour to which has been added, 1 tsp soda, 1/4 tsp salt. Blend into the above: 1/2 cup sour cream and chocolate mixture.
Grease and wax paper line a 9 X 5 X 3 aluminum loaf pan. Pour mixture into pan and bake at 350° for 1 hour and 15 minutes, or longer. Cool for 10 minutes and turn out onto a rack.
Frosting: Melt 3 or 4 squares of chocolate with 2 tbsp butter.
Blend: 3 cups sifted confectioners sugar with 7 tbsp milk & 1 tsp vanilla. Add hot chocolate mixture. Mix well.
