  • eggs - 3 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • chopped nuts - 1/2 c
  • flour - 1 Tbsp
  • butter - 4 Tbsp
  • water - 1 c
  • egg yolks - 2 item
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • cocoa - 1/2 c
  • baking powder - 1 tsp
  • all-purpose flour
  • shredded coconut - 1 c
  • oleo - 2/3 c
  • canned milk
  • washed, drained and chopped sauerkraut - 2/3 c
  • Mix eggs, flour, baking powder, soda, cocoa and salt together with water, vanilla and kraut

How to make sauerkraut cake:

Cream well the oleo and sugar. Mix eggs, flour, baking powder, soda, cocoa and salt together with water, vanilla and kraut. Mix well. Bake in greased and floured 2 layer or sheet cake pan at 350° for 30 minutes.Icing:1 c. brown sugar1 1/2 c. canned milk1 Tbsp. flour2 egg yolks1 tsp. vanilla4 Tbsp. butter1 c. shredded coconut1/2 c. chopped nuts Cook and stir while cooking the first 4 ingredients. Add vanilla and butter; beat well. Cool. Add coconut and chopped nuts.
