- margarine, melted - 1 c
- bag Kraft caramels - 1 (4
- evaporated milk 5 oz - 2/3 c
- German chocolate cake mix or plain chocolate cake mix - 2 pkg
How to make chocolate caramel bars:
Melt caramels with 1/3 cup evaporated milk. Combine rest of milk, cake mix and melted margarine; mix. Press 1/2 of mixture into bottom of greased 9 x 12-inch baking pan. Bake at 350° for 6 minutes. Remove. Sprinkle with chocolate pieces. Top with caramel mixture (spreading to edges). Top with teaspoonful of remaining cake mixture. Bake at 350° for 20 minutes. Cool. Refrigerate.
