  • onion, chopped - 1 item
  • salt - 1 Tbsp
  • large pieces chicken - 4 item
  • sour cream - 1/2 pt
  • black pepper - 1 tsp
  • shortening - 1/4 c
  • paprika - 1 Tbsp
  • water
  • light cream optional - 1/2 pt
  • Dumplings:3 eggs, beaten
  • flour, sifted

How to make chicken paprika:

Dumplings:3 eggs, beaten1/2 c. water2 1/2 c. flour, sifted1 tsp. salt Brown onion in shortening; mix in seasonings. Add chicken and brown 10 minutes. Add water; cover and simmer slowly until tender (about 1 hour). Remove chicken from pan; add sour cream to drippings in pan and mix well (thicken if desired). Add light cream for more gravy. Add dumplings and arrange chicken on top. Heat through and serve.

To prepare dumplings, blend together ingredients, adding more flour if necessary to make a stiff batter. Drop by teaspoonfuls into boiling salted water. Cook for 10 minutes. Rinse with cold water; drain.
