  • sour cream - 1/2 pt
  • salt - 2 Tbsp
  • flour - 3 c
  • water
  • shortening - 4 Tbsp
  • paprika - 1 Tbsp
  • onion, chopped - 1 item
  • black pepper - 1 Tbsp
  • Add seasonings and chicken
  • chicken disjointed - 4 5

How to make chicken paprikas:

Brown onion in shortening. Add seasonings and chicken. Brown 10 minutes. Add water, cover and let simmer slowly until tender. Remove chicken. Add sour cream to drippings in pan and mix well. Replace chicken and heat through. Do not boil again. To thicken gravy, add 1 tablespoon flour blended in cold water until smooth. Serve with dumplings or bow ties.Dumplings:3 eggs, beaten3 c. flour1 Tbsp. salt1/2 c. water Mix all ingredients together and beat with a spoon. Drop batter by teaspoon into boiling salted water. Cook about 10 minutes. Drain and rinse with cold water. Drain well and add to Paprikas.
