Ingredients/Components

  • butter or margarine - 2 Tbsp
  • paprika - 1 item
  • garlic powder - 1 item
  • salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
  • mayonnaise - 3/4 c
  • celery, chopped - 3/4 c
  • jar jalapeno Cheez Whiz - 8 oz
  • few dashes of Tabasco - 1 item
  • small bag potato chips, crushed - 1 item
  • eggs, hard-boiled and chopped - 2 item
  • green onions and tops, minced - 3 tsp
  • cans Swanson Chicken A La King - 2 oz
  • can mushrooms and juice, sliced - 1 oz

How to make chicken imperial:

Saute onions and celery in butter or margarine until soft. Mix chicken and mushrooms in saucepan. Add cheese and melt over low heat. Add garlic powder, salt, pepper, onions and celery; mix well.

Fold in mayonnaise and Tabasco. Pour into glass baking dish and heat at 350° for 20 minutes. Sprinkle eggs and crushed potato chips over top. Sprinkle with paprika. Serve in chafing dish. This is good served with small party shells or tart shells. Also nice over Melba toast or biscuits for lunch or supper.
