Ingredients/Components
- eggs - 2 item
- milk
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 1/3 c
- water - 2 Tbsp
- vegetable oil - 4 6
- pepper - 1/2 tsp
- corn meal - 1/3 c
- pan drippings
- round steak or 6 cube steaks
How to make chicken fried steak with pan gravy:
Pan Gravy:3 Tbsp. pan drippings2 Tbsp. flour1 1/2 c. milk1/2 tsp. salt1/8 tsp. pepper Beat egg and water together in a pie plate. Mix flour, meal, salt and pepper in wax paper. Dip steaks first in plain flour, then egg mix. Dip in seasoned flour; coat well. Brown meat in hot oil, both sides, in large, heavy skillet. Cover. Cook 20 minutes or until tender.Remove to platter. Pour off all but 3 tablespoons pan drippings. Blend in flour, then milk, salt and pepper until gravy thickens and bubbles.
