Chicken breasts in sour cream
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- chopped onion - 1/2 c
- chopped celery - 1/2 c
- chicken breasts, skinned - 6 item
- green pepper, chopped - 1 item
- melted butter or margarine - 4 Tbsp
- commercial sour cream - 1 c
- can sliced mushrooms undrained - 1 oz
How to make chicken breasts in sour cream:
Saute chicken in butter. Arrange chicken in a lightly greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan; set aside. Saute onion, celery and green pepper in pan drippings until tender. Remove from heat; let cool slightly. Combine vegetables, mushrooms, sour cream, salt and pepper. Spoon mixture over chicken. Cover and bake at 350° for 45 to 55 minutes, or until chicken tests done. Yields 6 servings.Note: This may be prepared and refrigerated up to 24 hours before needed.
