Chicken and dressing
Ingredients/Components
- salt
- sage - 3 Tbsp
- slices bread - 4 item
- black pepper - 1 tsp
- chicken - 1 item
- large onion, chopped - 1 item
- cornbread crumbs - 12 item
- cubes oleo - 2 item
- to 5 eggs - 4 item
How to make chicken and dressing:
Boil chicken until tender. Bone and skin and chop to bite-size. Place in a 2-quart saucepan. Add onion, sage, 1 stick oleo, salt and pepper. Let boil 5 to 8 minutes. Add enough water to make 2 quarts. In a large container, crumble corn bread and eggs. Mix well and pour in a large roast pan. Cut 1 stick oleo in slices over top. Have your dressing pretty juicy or will be too dry when baked. I taste mine to see if it needs more sage. You may want to add more seasoning. Bake at 350° for 45 minutes to 1 hour (when it gets golden brown on top).Recipe categories: Main dish, Casseroles, Chicken breast.
