Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- flour - 1 c
- butter - 1 Tbsp
- cornstarch - 1 Tbsp
- soda - 1 tsp
- melted butter - 1 Tbsp
- dash of salt - 1 item
- nutmeats - 1/2 c
- egg, beaten - 1 item
- juice from cherries
- sour pitted cherries, drained save the juice - 2 c
How to make cherry torte:
Sauce:1 c. juice from cherries1 Tbsp. cornstarch1/2 c. sugar1 Tbsp. butter Mix the first 6 ingredients. Add drained cherries, egg and melted butter. Stir gently until all ingredients are moistened. Bake in an 8 x 12-inch greased pan at 350° for 45 minutes.Sauce: Combine sugar and cornstarch in small bowl; set aside. Combine juice and butter in small saucepan; cook over low heat until butter is melted. Add sugar-cornstarch mixture; stir constantly until sauce thickens. Serve in squares, topping each square with a heaping tablespoonful of Cool Whip, with sauce dribbled over all.
