Cherry pecan bread

- sugar - 3/4 c
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- chopped pecans - 1 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 2 c
- buttermilk - 1 c
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- margarine, softened - 1/2 c
- jar maraschino cherries, drained and chopped - 1 oz
How to make cherry pecan bread:
In a mixing bowl, cream margarine and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Combine the flour, baking soda and salt; add to the creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk. Stir in pecans, cherries and vanilla. Pour into a greased and floured 8 x 4 x 2-inch loaf pan. Bake at 350° for 65 to 75 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes before removing from pan to a wire rack.
