  • vanilla ice cream - 1 item
  • currant jelly - 3/4 c
  • rum - 1/4 c
  • grated orange peel - 1 tsp
  • brandy - 1/4 c
  • syrup - 1/4 c
  • pitted dark sweet cherries, drained and reserved - 1 c

How to make cherries jubilee:

Combine syrup and rum. Pour over reserved cherries and refrigerate for 4 hours.

In a chafing dish or saucepan, melt jelly over low heat. Stir in cherry mixture and orange peel. Cook and stir constantly, then add brandy. When warm, pour over ice cream.
