German chocolate pie
Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- chopped pecans - 1/2 c
- pkg - 1 oz
- butter or margarine - 1/4 c
- salt - 1/8 tsp
- cornstarch - 3 Tbsp
- flaked coconut
- can evaporated milk - 1 oz
- eggs, slightly beaten - 2 item
- unbaked 9-inch deep dish pastry shell - 1 item
How to make german chocolate pie:
In saucepan, melt chocolate and butter over low heat. Remove from heat and gradually blend in milk. Set aside.In a bowl, combine sugar, cornstarch and salt. Stir in eggs and vanilla. Gradually stir in chocolate mixture. Pour into pastry shell.
Combine pecans and coconut. Sprinkle over filling. Bake at 375° for 45 to 50 minutes. Very rich and delicious. To dress the pie up, decorate with chocolate curls.
