Ingredients/Components

  • milk
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • all-purpose flour - 3 Tbsp
  • onion, chopped - 1/4 c
  • green pepper, chopped - 2 Tbsp
  • celery, chopped - 1/2 c
  • Cheddar cheese, shredded - 1 c
  • instant beef bouillon granules - 1 Tbsp
  • ground beef or turkey - 1 lb

How to make cheeseburger chowder:

In 3-quart saucepan, brown meat; drain off excess fat. Stir in potatoes, celery, onion, green peppers, bouillon, salt and 1 1/2 cups water. Cover and cook until veggies are tender, 15 to 20 minutes.

Blend 1/2 cup milk with flour. Add to pan along with remaining milk. Cook and stir until thickened and bubbling. Add cheese. Heat and stir just until cheese melts. Garnish with additional cheese, if desired.

It really tastes like a cheeseburger! Delicious on a cold winter day with homemade bread!
