Cheddar chowder
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- water - 1 c
- chopped carrots - 1/4 c
- chopped celery - 1/4 c
- chopped scallions - 1/4 c
- chopped green pepper - 1/4 c
- milk - 2 c
- chicken broth - 2 c
- butter - 4 Tbsp
- small onion, chopped - 1 item
- flour - 6 Tbsp
- grated sharp Cheddar - 3 c
- strips cooked bacon - 6 item
- Dijon mustard
How to make cheddar chowder:
Bring salt and water to a boil, then add vegetables and simmer 5 minutes. Reserve. Heat milk and broth to a boil. Melt butter in second pot over low heat. Add onion and cook until tender.
