Ingredients/Components

  • milk - 4 c
  • flour - 1 c
  • butter - 1/2 c
  • water - 2 c
  • chopped celery - 1/3 c
  • chicken broth - 4 c
  • chopped carrots - 1/3 c
  • salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
  • chopped green onion - 1 c
  • cayenne pepper - 1/4 tsp
  • jar Cheez Whiz - 1 oz
  • medium white onion, chopped - 1 item

How to make cheddar cheese soup:

Boil carrots, celery and green onions in water for 5 minutes. Saute white onion in butter until translucent. Add flour and blend well. Boil chicken broth. Stir into onion mixture with a wire whisk. Add cheese, salt, pepper and vegetables (including water). Bring to a boil. Turn off heat. Serve immediately.
