Cheddar chowder
Ingredients/Components
- milk - 2 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 1/4 c
- water - 2 c
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- chopped onion - 1/4 c
- grated Cheddar cheese - 2 c
- diced celery - 1/2 c
- diced carrots - 1/2 c
- diced potatoes - 2 c
- cubed ham - 1 c
- Meanwhile, in a small saucepan, make White Sauce
How to make cheddar chowder:
Combine the first 7 ingredients; boil for 10 to 12 minutes. Meanwhile, in a small saucepan, make White Sauce.White Sauce:1/4 c. butter1/4 c. flour2 c. milk2 c. grated Cheddar cheese Melt the butter. Add the flour; stir until smooth (about 1 minute). Slowly add the milk; cook until thickened. Add the grated cheese; stir until melted. Add white sauce and ham to vegetables that have not been drained. Heat through and enjoy. Serves 6.Recipe categories: Soups & stews, Chowders, Super bowl.
