Cheddar cheese soup
Ingredients/Components
- milk - 4 c
- flour - 1 c
- stick margarine - 1 item
- water - 2 c
- prepared mustard - 1 Tbsp
- salt and pepper - 1 item
- large onion, finely chopped - 1 item
- cayenne pepper - 1/4 tsp
- jar Cheez Whiz - 1 oz
- carrots, finely chopped - 2 item
- celery ribs, finely chopped - 2 item
- cans chicken broth or cream of chicken soup - 3 item
How to make cheddar cheese soup:
Boil carrots, celery and onion in water 5 minutes. Melt margarine in large pot; add flour and blend well. Slowly add chicken broth, stirring constantly to prevent lumping, then add milk, Cheez Whiz, salt, pepper and cayenne. Stir in mustard and the boiled vegetables including the water in which they were boiled. Bring to a boil and serve.Note: One-half of this recipe is a lot. Cream of chicken soup instead of broth is good.
