Cauliflower casserole
Ingredients/Components
- milk
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 3 Tbsp
- butter - 3 Tbsp
- lemon juice - 1 Tbsp
- Parmesan cheese - 2 Tbsp
- dash of pepper - 1 item
- bread crumbs - 1/2 c
- egg yolks, beaten - 2 item
- Cheddar cheese - 1/2 c
- large cauliflower - 1 item
How to make cauliflower casserole:
Boil whole cauliflower in salted water until just under cooked, about 15 minutes.White Sauce: In saucepan, mix butter and flour over medium heat. Gradually add milk to make a medium sauce. Lower heat as you go, if necessary. Add to sauce the Parmesan cheese, lemon juice, salt, pepper and egg yolks.
Butter 1 1/2-quart casserole. Flowerette cauliflower. Pour sauce over cauliflower. Sprinkle bread crumbs on top of cauliflower/sauce. Top with cheese. Pour 1/4 cup melted butter over all. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes.
