Ingredients/Components

  • milk
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • flour - 3 tsp
  • butter - 4 Tbsp
  • corn flakes - 2 c
  • onion, chopped - 1/3 c
  • cheese, chopped - 1 c
  • carrots, cooked and drained - 4 c

How to make carrots and cheese:

Crush corn flakes and mix with 1 tablespoon melted butter. Set aside. Brown onion in remaining butter and add to flour, salt and milk, making a white sauce. Cook until thick, remove from burner and add cheese until melted. Stir in carrots with sauce. Pour into a 1 1/2-quart casserole dish. Sprinkle corn flakes as topping. Bake at 350° for 20 minutes.
