Ingredients/Components
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- baking soda - 1/2 tsp
- dark corn syrup - 1/2 c
- light brown sugar - 2 c
- peanuts - 1 c
- popcorn, popped - 6 qt
- butter or 1/2 butter and 1/2 margarine - 1 c
How to make caramel corn:
Mix sugar, butter, corn syrup and salt in pan. Boil and cook 5 minutes (candy thermometer, 250°) and add vanilla. Pour over popcorn and mix well. Bake in a 225° oven for 1 hour, stirring at 15 minute intervals.Recipe categories: Lunch/snacks, Snacks, American.
