Ingredients/Components
- butter or margarine - 1/4 c
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- baking soda - 1/4 tsp
- molasses
- popped corn - 2 qt
- dark corn syrup - 2 Tbsp
- brown sugar, packed - 1/2 c
- peanuts optional - 1 item
How to make caramel corn:
Place popped corn in roaster pan. Combine sugar, butter, syrup, salt and molasses in medium saucepan. Bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer 2 to 3 minutes.Remove from heat and add soda. Stir until creamy. Pour over corn, stirring to distribute evenly. Add peanuts, if desired. Spread on lightly buttered jelly roll pan and bake at 250° for 30 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes. Cool.
